A catch-all mailbox receives messages sent to nonexistent addresses under the exact same domain. For example, a message sent to the miswritten suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. Thus, you can get email messages from partners or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a typo or to an old one, which they may still have, but you have already deactivated. Only one mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for such a mailbox. This is so because of the fact that at a certain moment you may begin receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction implies that the spam will not be received in a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Hosting

If you host a domain on our cloud hosting platform and you’ve got a hosting account, you will be able to activate the catch-all functionality for any e-mailbox that you create under the domain. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel includes quite a lot of features, but it’s astonishingly intuitive, so configuring a catch-all mailbox requires only a click of the mouse. All the email addresses that you have set up will be listed in this section alphabetically and you’ll only need to click on the "Catch-all" button associated with the particular email address. Our system will notify you if there’s already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain name or if the one that you want to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding activated, so you can either disable the latter feature or pick another mailbox. Disabling the catch-all feature is just as simple and requires yet another click on the exact same button.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The catch-all functionality can be activated without any difficulty in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server plan with us. All the email addresses that you have set up using the domains hosted in the account will be displayed in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you’ll notice a mini symbol conveniently situated directly next to each one of them. With only one single click of the mouse, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your liking as long as there isn't another mailbox under the same domain name with this option already activated and there isn't activated email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on an email address and enable this feature using the contextual menu that will appear. In case any of the prerequisites for configuring a catch-all mailbox is not matched, our system will warn you, but will not deactivate or replace anything automatically.
